Lock, Stock and Two smoking Barrels Film Review

my overall opinion of the film is that the film was alright, i thought some of the aspects in the film were humorous at times. i think that the film used sub genre very well the use of a genre within a genre which was gangster and comedy. i think that this lighten the mood of the film and made it less serious even though it was focusing on serious issues. out of all of the characters my favorite i would have to say was the guy with the kid, i liked him because he was serious and he got down to busy. where all the other characters were messing around and losing money and those guns. He just comes in an goes an gets it. As he said when you see an opportunity you should go and get it which is what he did. i thought the kid brought a sensitive and caring side to him, even though he was telling him to do stuff the child brought fathers instincts to him, like when he told the child to put his seat belt on or when he told him not to swear. this made the character more likeable.

i think that the film is a cliche gangster film, and i think the conventions used in the film make it cliche, such as the money, drinking and drug use. overall an interesting film.

  1. Isabella, you have made some interesting points about this film, particularly where you have stated the film is cliche. The conventions that you have identified to support this view are also used within Scarface so what is it about the treatment of these conventions with Lock Stock that makes it seem cliched?
