KONY 2012

Kony 2012

In reference to my opinion on the Kony 2012 I found the documentary informative. But I do feel that the documentary should have focused perhaps more on the actual issues and shown the causes. When I say this I mean that the documentary should had shown the perhaps how the children were getting taken and focused into that lifestyle and what they would have to do exactly. Though it would be very hard to watch and reveal i think that, that would truly open eyes to what’s actually happening in Uganda. Furthermore I think if the public actually saw the shocking truth they might take action and more people might want to help. In my opinion the documentary showed more off the directors campaigning, fight and approach to try to get people to help but it did actually document much of the story and facts of the story. To add I also feel as if the director showed his son too much, I understand that he wanted to send the message across to the audience that this could happen to his child and it could happen to ours. But with so much involvement with the son such as his birth tape, asking him so many questions and photos, it felt as if the documentary was more about the son and for his sake rather that the shocking story of Kony 2012. In addition overall my opinion about the documentary I think that it’s very sickening and a sad story to be honest, I think that every child deserve a child hood that they can look back on appreciate and have beautiful memories about. I also think that your child hood plays a vital role in who you become as a person, so I think to have such a traumatic and brutal childhood, later on in life you will either forever be traumatize or make wrong decision.
